In a heartwarming display of dedication and community spirit, the youth of St. Mary and St. John Parish rolled up their sleeves and got their hands dirty over the weekend by planting in the church premises. Their efforts not only beautified the surroundings but also fostered a sense of connection and care for their shared space. The initiative, spearheaded by the parish’s youth group and please G.A Lesotho, because its aimed is to encourage young members of the community to actively participate in nurturing and maintaining the church grounds. Rev Earl Richards was inducted as the new rector for the Church of the Ascension in Paarl,. The archdeacon Rus Bassoples planted two trees in honour of this beautiful occasion, as part of the Anglican Communion Forest #generationrestoration

Today the Diocese of Eswatini, Usuthu Parish…..commemorated the World Environment day. The Theme for World Environment Day is Eco-system restoration and so trees were planted after Church. The Mothers Union are also embracing the Environmental Challenges! #restorationgeneration

Last weekend, Green Anglicans had the pleasure of collaborating with the Lesotho Region of the Anglican Students’ Federation (ASF) in a powerful cleaning campaign in Maseru. The event was not only about picking up litter and beautifying the city; it was also an opportunity to raise awareness about environmental and climate issues that are affecting our planet. The day began with an insightful talk on the importance of environmental conservation and the impact of climate change on our world. It was heartening to see the ASFers’ passion and dedication to making a positive difference in their community and beyond. Their enthusiasm and commitment to environmental action were truly inspiring. As ASF members and Green Anglicans volunteers joined forces to clean up the streets of Maseru, it became clear that when we come together with a shared goal, we can achieve great things. The sense of camaraderie and unity among the participants was palpable, and it was evident that everyone was committed to making a tangible impact on the environment. The cleaning campaign was just the beginning of what promises to be a long-term collaboration between Green Anglicans and ASF Lesotho Region. Together, we are determined to continue our efforts to promote environmental stewardship, raise awareness about climate issues, and inspire others to take action. O On the 26th of May 2024 the Parish of St. Mark’s in the Archdeaconry of Drakensberg under Revd. B. Ntanjana (Deacon) held its bishop’s episcopal visit and confirmation service, present on the day was the Ven. Magadla who is the Archdeacon ,together with Revd. Canon Zibaya and Revd. Mateyisi. The Diocesan Green Anglicans Desk was represented by B. White and Ms T. Ngudle, on the day two trees were planted by the diocesan Bishop.
