The Diocese of Eswatini successfully hosted a Season of Creation Awareness Campaign at Luve on the 10th of October, 2026. The observance convened under the theme of the Season of Creation and was marked by broad ecumenical participation and strong community engagement.
The event was graced by representation from various Christian denominations, including Zionist churches and other faith communities within and around Luve. Attendance exceeded one hundred participants. The programme commenced with a symbolic awareness march covering approximately 400 meters to Luve Parish, a demonstration of collective commitment to environmental stewardship.
We were honoured by the presence and support of our valued partners, whose contributions significantly enriched the campaign. We extend our profound appreciation to the Eswatini Environment Authority (EEA), the Council of Eswatini Churches, the Department of Health, The Thirst Project, and all other collaborating stakeholders.
The campaign featured insightful and eye-opening addresses and sensitization sessions delivered by our partners. The sessions focused on the critical importance of clean water and practical measures for protecting, preserving, and conserving water resources as part of our God-given responsibility to creation.
The community of Luve warmly received the initiative and expressed sincere appreciation to the Church for its leadership in environmental matters. In response, community members pledged to fulfill their role as faithful stewards of creation and to advance environmental justice within their households and communities.
We remain committed to continued collaboration in safeguarding our environment and caring for creation.
