Earth Day at St Joseph’s

The Chapel of St. Joseph the Worker, Wallacedene, in the Diocese of Saldanha Bay  demonstrated  care towards the  Environment and Earth In response to the World Earth Day which was celebrated on Monday, 22nd April 2024. The Chapel of St. Joseph the Worker, Wallacedene had a remarkably successful Earth Day Clean-up on Saturday, 27 April 2024. This noble initiative was led by GBFS and immensely supported by the Chapel congregants.

The programme commenced with prayer, thereafter, moved to cleaning the streets leading to the Chapel premises. GBFS, the Chapel Assistant Priest, Rev Maci, the Chapel Wardens/Church Council and organisers wish to extend a word of gratitude to Green Anglicans for their generous donation that led to the planting of a Palm Tree within the premises of the Chapel. Another special mention goes to the City of Cape Town which donated the blue refuse bags. To the Chapel congregants who donated refreshments and plants, thank you so ever much. May the good Lord multiply where you have taken from.

We look forward to a formal establishment of the Green Anglicans Champions or Ambassadors within our Chapel, which may see the Chapel contributing positively to environmental shortcomings facing our Community
