Archbishop Tutu- A Birthday with a difference!
Archbishop Desmond Tutu – A Birthday with a difference! Like every other thing he does differently, Archbishop emeritus Desmond Tutu celebrated his 82nd at Joe Slovo informal settlement near Cape Town picking up litter in the streets. He was joined by primary kids from a neighboring school, members of The Desmond and Leah Tutu Foundation as well the Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds ( SANCCOB). The drive by the Archbishop has surely left people from Joe Slovo with a responsibility to continue after him. At the age of 82, the Arch has showed the nation that there is no excuse not to pick up plastics, and papers. Excessive littering may create unhealthy living conditions and harm the environment, throwing items like fast foods containers to the ground contributes on pollution. Changing our environment begins with one person and soon your initiative will grow into the entire community. Archbishop Emeritus Tutu has led the way and now the ball is in our court to take over and continue with the journey of going green, it’s our responsibility as residents of all other communities to keep it clean.
